For every pound of fat an individual gains, the body creates seven (7) miles of new capillaries, veins, and arteries to provide the nutrients for all those new cells. Understandably when an individual is 50 to 70 pounds overweight it places an enormous burden on the heart and cardiovascular system. The co-morbidities associated with excessive weight, which are other medical conditions caused by the weight gain, are significant, serious and numerous.
With 38% of our population obese and another 30% overweight, this is an epidemic and a pressing national healthcare crisis. Obesity is a complex disease with many contributing factors.
When people have difficulty losing weight, it is because the underlying cause (s) have not been properly addressed. We have spent years researching this disease and working with patients struggling with weight.
Our program and protocol is not designed for the public, rather we work with third party payors (insurance companies, employers, and organizations) to devise programs for their stakeholders and employees.
From time to time we accept individuals on a case by case basis.
